ME CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME -

In 2013, Claire was diagnosed with ME / CFS but has now made a full recovery and is living life to the full. In order to help others who struggle with this debilitating illness, Claire has created a factsheet together with the Optimum Health Clinic, which she hopes will inspire and encourage others with the illness to keep fighting and searching for answers to their questions with regards to ME.

That you’re looking at this document suggests that you or someone close to you is struggling with their health, and that you suspect that ME Chronic Fatigue Syndrome may be the cause. I sympathise. It's a perplexing and debilitating illness that flored me for well over a year.

I was very, very lucky to find a team of private practitioners to guide my treatment, and who explored with me what worked and what didn’t for me. I was fortunate to be able to pay for this private treatment, but not everyone is in the position to do so, particularly if you end up not being able to work for long periods of time due to the illness. My practitioner team comprised of the Optimum Health Clinic London, Dr Ben Matthew Cardiff Bay Chiropractic, and Dr Jacobs, Evergreen Clinic Dorset.

At present, the NHS offers medical treatment to ease the symptoms, but does not offer the possibility of curative treatment. Part of the reason for this is that frustratingly, it seems that there are as many causes of ME as there are people who suffer from it. It is an illness that arises from a very personal bundle of challenges, lifestyle choices, ways of thinking and being, conditions and life circumstances. It is precisely why it is so difficult to treat, and why

conventional medicine tends to shy away from offering patients the hope of

recovery.

But, I and many others have found a way back to wellness, and although I now have to be much more aware of managing my energy, in truth, I live a far more balanced life and it gets easier day by day, week by week as old habits and patterns are changed and a more rounded lifestyle

emerges.I would like to raise awareness of the potential of

recovery from ME, and in doing so encourage the NHS to

look at successful practices and methods being

developed that successfully treat this condition. It won’t

happen overnight, but if enough of us prove the theory,

with solid research and clinical results, I am convinced that

in time, ME will become a condition considered treatable

and curable in mainstream medical practice.

The team at Optimum Health Clinic have pooled their

extensive experience and knowledge of ME Chronic Fatigue

and its associated condition Fibromyalgia into a free guide

that you can download from here. We created it in the hope

that it will help you a little in your search for answers and treatments as well as give you a hope and encouragement to not give up and ‘just live with it.’ Likewise, here's an interview I did recently with Alex Howard, founder of the clinic for thier webstream series for clients. It records some of my experiences and how through various treatments that worked for me, I was able to recover. Everybody's ME comes on because of different triggers, what worked for me, might not work for you, but it might give you an insight into the kind of exploratory process that can help.

I wish you well
